Victoria City Council has adopted a new strategic plan to guide investment and focus the City’s work over the next four years – to improve the quality of life for residents, support economic health and vibrancy, and position the City as an innovative leader in climate action.
“The Strategic Plan’s eight priorities envelop the big ideas the City Council wants to realize by 2026,” said Mayor Marianne Alto. “In partnership with City staff and our residents, with the support of other governments and allies, we will work to imagine and realize an inclusive, accessible, tolerant, welcoming city that our children and grandchildren can call home.”
The 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan’s eight priorities are:
- Climate Action and Environmental Stewardship
- Housing
- Transportation
- Parks, Recreation and Gathering Spaces
- Community Well-Being and Safety
- Economic Health and Community Vitality
- Truth and Reconciliation
- Arts, Culture, Music, Sports and Entertainment
The four-year plan prioritizes decisive leadership and innovative approaches to intentionally transform Victoria into a more affordable, safe and inclusive city by 2026. The goal is to create a dynamic environment where residents can envision a future for themselves and generations to come.
The 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan was developed by members of the Council over a series of facilitated public discussions earlier this year and was informed by City staff. Learn more.
